Trip Advisor has helped this scavenger hunt host rise like a Phoenix from the ashes of a on hold event business. They did a promotion of virtual experiences and included me. At first I only got 1 booking, from three friends in Kuwait and I thought that was it. Nothing else happened for weeks. I actually deleted my game from my website, thinking it wasn't going to work.
But then, one morning, when I woke up, I saw the bookings were steadily coming in. By the end of a few days, I had 13 new bookings, most of them for large groups. My Mothers Day Weekend was hosting families in different locations playing together from all over the world.
I'll be honest. It was a challenge to remake a scavenger hunt to be done in peoples homes. I lost the incredible scenery of my hunt locations, the culture. the art, the history and the friendly locals. Its a new way of connecting and interacting and I knew I needed to keep the quality very high and offer an experience that was as much fun.
I am happy to report it did take some trial and error but I did pull it off. My three large groups on Mothers Day were fantastic and we all had a great time. I am doing a number of Hawaii themed clues. Who doesnt want to go to Hawaii right now? I may even move into specific location themed games! Want to have your hunt based in Hawai or Nepal?
